Week 14 - Welcome to trimester 2! Over one-third of the way and now 4 months pregnant. This week has been a weird and emotional week. 26 weeks to go!
👶🏽 Baby Status: This week baby is the size of a navel orange, 10cm and 57 grams 🍊 Baby's body is now growing much bigger than the head. Bub has fingers, toes, a heartbeat, brainwaves, unique fingerprints and now grasp, squint, frown, grimace and suck his/her thumb. Falling more in love with this lil amazing babe every day.
🤰🏽 Mama's Status: This week I've been experiencing pressure in my lower back and pelvis with sensations that go into my thigh - super weird and taking it easy. I've also had some weird flu-ey symptoms visiting (upset belly, headache, fatigue, sore back). Guillaume had it first then me. But grateful it passed quickly. I read up and found out that when mamas get sick, it's 3 times as worse and they are at risk of pneumonia. hospitalisation, premature labour and death 😳 Well that's just what every pregnant woman wants to hear! I then was googling what a 14 week old baby looks like and came across photos of miscarried 14 week olds. Both of these google sessions probably contributed... but I found myself stuck in the warped anxiety hole this week of worrying about worrying, stressing about stress, and anxious about anxiety itself. Just going over and over all the fears of everything that could go wrong with birth and with baby. I'm still being gentle with myself and processing and will do a separate blog post on anxiety and pregnancy later. On a side note, I'm also getting more emotional than ever - literally cry to every episode of Modern Family 🙄😂
Diet: Diet is starting to look more and more what it looked like before I fell pregnant, which is great. The more the nausea wears off the more I'm mindful of getting a well-balanced diet. Though cravings are starting to kick in hard!
Aversions: Most foods I'm pretty open to eating again.
Cravings: I'm craving the weirdest stuff this week. Like pineapple in savoury meals. Or savoury toppings on sweet meals. Weird!
Products and Supplements I'm loving: I've started loving essential oils again. Previously the scents were too overpowering for me. Back on plain lemon essential oils to energise.
Pregnancy Exercises and Yoga: This week I'm finding myself more and more out of breath over things that I used to do so easily. Gym workouts and yoga flows are actually feeling good again. I have energy to burn and I love to get all those feel good endorphins running!
Self Care Ritual This Week: Got a facial and micro scrub this week. Mostly to help with pigmentation and some cute lil pimples that are popping up. But it turned out to be 45mins of face and head massaging which was bloody relaxing.
